Samantha Petti

I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Tufts University. Broadly, I am interested in designing mathematical and computational methods to answer biological questions. Much of my research focuses on inferring the structure of fitness landscapes and describing the mechanics of evolutionary processes. Previously, I was an independent postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University’s NSF-Simons Center for Mathematical and Statistical Analysis of Biology and a member of the Eddy Lab. I received my Ph.D. from the multidisciplinary Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization (ACO) program at Georgia Tech, where I was fortunate to be advised by Santosh Vempala.
